PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

A Bachelor of Science graduate in Computer Science from University of Strathclyde but doing some catch up learning at UWS Paisley (long story short, I’m going for another Computer Science degree). Working knowledge and experience in software engineering. An independent software developer, currently working on several projects while furthering my education in Game Design, including Audio/ Visual maintenance and development, to which I have several years of voluntary experience. Keenly interested in a career with customer focus within Software Development in general, and game design in particular.

From 2015, I decided that I might as well go into using my skills and not sitting on my butt hoping I would get employed. Been picking up extra skills such as

STUFF I’M GOOD AT

  • Proficiency in programming, program design and implementation
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new programming languages with minimal training.
  • Proficiency in Blender3D, picking up some Maya 2019.
  • Proficiency in using Krita, Paint.NET and similar graphics software.
  • Proficiency in computer repair and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of the animation and film editing process (From a computing perspective).
  • Recently took some time with Tech Allies Network Summer Institute 2020 and
    • Some more team based communication skills
    • Picked up the Design Sprint Method with Empathy Mapping, User Stories etc.
    • Picked up the use of apps like Mural and MarvelApp.

Hobbies And Voluntary work

  • Proficiency in music: Playing electric bass guitar, guitar and piano. Writing music in my spare time (either with a DAW like Ableton or scored music). My knowledge in music allows me the ability to play bass for my local churches; Glasgow City Church and Woodlands International Methodist Church.
  • Volunteering for the Audio /Visual Teams. I set up live sound equipment , check to ensure all audio signals are working properly, set up the projection systems, and acting as an advisor to leads on possible changes, repairs and improvements to current systems. I also perform video editing duties when required.
    • Currently, I am editing videos for Glasgow City Church during the Lockdown.
